Hi
I am currently on holiday in beautiful Wales and I think I'm very close to where my husband's family used to live but cant find it on the map.
I am trying to find Penrhiw which is near Borth Y Gest (please forgive me if my spellings are incorrect but I foolishly left all my notes at home )
The family appear there in 1901 but not in 1911 so I'm assuming both gr gr grandparents died within this 10 year period and thought I might try to find the graveyard where they could be buried.
Could anyone point me in the right direction - ie which graveyard this could be?
Many thanks in advance
Anne-Marie

Hi Anne-Marie
Pen Rhiw is just northwest of Borth at the northwest corner of the Parc Y Borth on Fford Morfa Bychan. I can't get the link to load so just go to Borth on Multimap and switch to OS view and you should find it as well as the locations of local churches in Borth & Morfa.

Not sure about the graveyard but according to Google maps, Penrhiw is just north of Penrhyndeudraeth on the A4085 - if you get to Garreg you've gone too far
There are 2 more places called Penrhiw in the area. 1 near Llanaber/Barmouth and the other near Maentwrog, Blaenau ffestiniog, but I assume you know which one you want!
Hope you find it
Linda
PS just seen post from hiraeth - you pays your money and you takes your choice

Just in case I would mention that there is a farm Penrhiw which is about 2 miles from Dolwyddelan. If you want details please let me know.

Hi Peter
Thank you for your kind offer - not sure if I'm on the right lines at the moment - this family is causing me much confusion! However, I don't think the Penrhiw you mention is the one I'm after.
Thanks again for the offer
Anne-Marie
