Laundry in Birkenhead

can anyone help?
I have just found the wife of my Great Uncle on the 1911 census aged 16, and it says her occupation was ''carrier out at laundry'' what would that be? and does anyone know were the laundry would have been in Birkenhead? her sister was a ''colar ironer at laundry'', must of been the same one!
they lived in Hind St.

Hi Chris
I lived by a very big Laundry it was called Falcon steam laundry in was on Cleveland Street
and Vittoria Street Birkenhead it closed down in the sixties it empoled a lot of people
it did a lot of work for the hospitals hope this is a little help for you

Thanks John, that sounds like it could be the one as it's not far from Hind St, i will google it and see if anything comes up about it.

would a carrier out at laundry mean that she delivered the laundry?

about the history of the wirral some body is bound to now all the history of the falcon laundry
