Help!

I've come to a complete stop on my Irish ancestors and hope someone can give me some help.
Michael Ryan c. 1831 in Ireland (I have census returns from that says born in Mayo, one that says Dublin and the others say Ireland!) but a family relative was told that he was born in Sligo!
He married Mary Ann Cooke in Birmingham in 1856 then moved to Warrington where he stayed until his death in 1893.
His father's name was Peter Ryan.
Can anyone help me in tracing his birth details and any details on Peter?
