I can't seem to find James Parsons bc1793 Stadhampton, Oxfordshire on the 1861 Census.

On the 1861 Census for Headington I found his wife Ann and 3 Sons and Ann is listed as Shepherds Wife with no head of household listed so James must be somewhere else, but where? He is listed on the 1851 and 1871 Census for Headington

Thanks for you quick reply to my lookup'

I am not sure if this is my James Parsons due to the age difference and place of birth.  On your census he is married but living on his own which is a plus and of course his occupation as Shepherd is the same but have a little niggle about his age and place of birth.

There are some trees on Ancestry following the same family and have him born at Chedington but I have a very reliable source that has my James was christened at Stedhampton and on the other census's that I have for him, he is listed as Stedhampton so it seems funny that he would change it for the 1861 census.

Hi All

I have searched the 1851 census for James Parsons born 1797 in Chedlington and have come up blanks so will claim this as my James until proven wrong.
