TOWNSEND of melksham

Henry Townsend was baptised 8/10/1769 in Melksham. Who were his parents? He married a Sarah Huh also born in Melksham in 1793/94. She was about 25 years his junior. I have found them in the 1841 and 1861 census.
Am trying to find out Sarah's surname and if possible the names of her parents. Also, could Henry have been married to some-one else before his marriage to Sarah? as it is possible then that there may be morechildren for Henry.  Any help would be very much appreciated and thank you in advance. mygirlbill

Hi

Henry's father was Thomas, no mothers name given on baptism as was usual at this time.
It is quite likely that it was Sarah Brewer who married a Thomas Townsend in Melksham 7th April 1765.
Sorry I am not able to help on marriages for Henry.

Are you sure that Henry was born in 1769 if you haave him in 1861 ?
There is another baptism in Melksham on 12th April 1795 Henry Townsend - parents John and Ann.

This Henry appears to be married to a Jane in 1841 - can't see your Henry at the moment in 1841.

The 1795 Henry Townsend, wife Jane and family are still in Melksham in 1851
HO107/1840, f109, sched 001.   City Bath Road, Melksham.   All surnames Townsend, all born WIL Melksham.

Henry, h, m, 57, mason lab
Jane, w, 48,
Mark, s, u, 21, mason
Henry, s, 12, scholar

No other Henry Townsend of appropriate age or place of birth in Wiltshire in 1851

Thank you so much for the prompt replies. According to the 1861 census, Henry and his wife Sarah were aged 94yrs and 65yrs and still living in Harper Street in Tetbury Gloucestershire same address as the one for the 1841 census. At the time of the 1841 census, their daughter Eliza was 9 years old and who later married Jonas Godwin in 1855.  The 1795 Henry Townsend is definitely not the one I am researching.  A rough estimate as to when Henry and Sarah were married could be around 1818 as their first child also named Henry was born in 1819. (According to the 1841 census)  Many thanks Rosie for your help also. It would seem very likely that Henry's parents probably were Thomas and Sarah. Would you know of any siblings for Henry? I could not find a marriage for Henry in Melksham PRs.   Confirmed his baptism 8 Oct 1768 son of Thomas Townsend.

There was this marriage in 1801
2 Feb 1801 John Townsend and Sarah Ruddle
