Dundonald cemetery-MOFFETT
« on: Tuesday 04 August 09 07:35 UTC (UK) »

Hello, i am wondering if there might be someone who could help me. I am trying to find information on William MOFFETT and his wife Elizabeth (Lillie)  MOFFETT who I believe are buried in Dundonald cemetery. They died within a year of each other, William 1938 and Lillie 1937. That is all the information that I have and would appreciate advice or information I am hoping a cemetery inscrption might help me find a death cert and births fors these two
Thankyou

Hello

If you go to the gatehouse the staff there will look up the original register and give you the grave reference. It does take them a day or two though.

Hi William,   I have not found the time to write.  I am inspired by your inquiry and will write to Dundonald cemetery tomorrow. It is the same as the city cemetery isn't it?

Do you have Moffetts in your family?

The City Cemetery is not the same as Dundonald Cemetery - although both are owned by Belfast City Council.  The burial records of the City Cemetery are online on the Ancestry Ireland pay per view site - search here:

http://www.ancestryireland.com/database.php?filename=db_QUIS_advanced2

select deaths and search by name - it costs £4 to look at each entry but searching is free.

You can write to the City Council cemeteries department via this site http://www.belfastcity.gov.uk/cemeteries/index.asp
