I was lookin through the census records when i realised my gt gt grandfather was not at home in 1851.
His name was John Wileman born in Measham in 1815 and married Elizabeth Wileman 1814
they had George, Mary , John , Rose H and a few more but the rest were after the 1861 census his profession is bricklayer and in 1841 was at home with Elizabeth and there daughter Mary, however 1851 Elizabeth is living at her in-laws Thomas and Mary Wileman and John is no where to be seen ? :-(
could he have popped to the pub and they missed him out ? i'm so confused
in 1861 the family had moved to Wolverhampton however they say in ST John's ward area and he is still a brick layer
Any clues would be most apreciated no matter how small
Kindest regards Jason

Derbyshire, Warwick. Yorkshire, Stafford and Worcestershire. In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth.

Settle down Dobby! The poor man was probably just working away somewhere
Looking at the original image for 1851 Rose H looks more like Rosannah
and Thomas is shown as a Widower

Hi Dobby, with all the John wilemans born in Measham around that time coming up on the census, I did wonder if he was a serial bigamist..

Hi,
Don't know if you have found this already (as certain information I wasn't sure about, vicars and all that lol) but I found a John and Elizabeth Wileman on the 1851 census, living in Derbyshire. He was born in Measham and 38 years old (c. 1813). He lived with wife and children Michael, Jemima, William and Georgianna. They also had a lodger.
Any chance these are them?
