Thomas Mudie married Rebekah Richardson on 13 October, 1822 They had at least five children Ann Storrar/Storrier – born 1822 John – born 1824 David – born 1826 Rebecca – born 1827 Possibly a William – born 1829 Charlotte – born 1835 Rebekah, the mother, died sometime between Charlotte’s birth in 1835 and the 1841 census. Rebecca, the daughter, married John Grant in 1850 and subsequently emigrated to NZ on the HELENSLEE in 1863 Ann married James Anderson in 1851. I cannot track Ann after this date but she does not appear to have come to NZ Charlotte married James Angus in Scotland in 1863 but was in NZ by 1868 and in NSW, Australia, by 1900 Thomas was in Scotland in 1863 but died in NZ in 1881 I have no knowledge of what happened to the boys other than possible marriages

I think I may have found William's Christening on the IGI:
William Moodie Christening 17th February 1829 in the neighbouring parish of Lethendy And Kinloch.
Parents Thomas Moodie and Rebecca Ritchie.
Possible mistranscription of mother's surname?
http://www.rootschat.com/links/07c0/ A very useful site for filling in gaps in families! Just search parish of interest by surname - saves having to scroll through hundreds of entries in the normal IGI results by county.
I agree that that is probably his christening. I've got the birth/christening for all of the children plus Ann, Rebecca and Charlotte's marriages.
The 1841 census has only William listed so whether the two older boys had died or gone to work I do not know. Dad was a flax spinner so they were very ordinary people. So far I haven't been able to find them in the 1851 or 1861 census.
Thomas and his two other married daughters Rebecca and Charlotte emigrated to NZ in 1863
