Can anyone help me trace Rosa Irene HOGG (or Irene Rosa)(and her family) through the '41/'01 censuses? Born Stroud 1898, possibly married 1920ish maybe in WORCESTER.

I think this was possibly William's first marriage -

William Hogg Stroud Dec 1895 6a 644 to Caroline Elizabeth Browning or Minnie Mary Smith

Death - Caroline Elizabeth Hogg June 1898 age 40 Stroud 6a 178

which would make Henry and Rosa, Caroline's children, not Ellen's


I hope this is the right Rose I'm following back! Let me know if you want the other censuses too....

I just amended my previous post as I realised that your Rosa was born the year Caroline died (1898) so she would be the mother, not Ellen.... looks like she died the quarter after Rosa was born, maybe from birth complications??

It starts to get even more complicated because I think Browning was Caroline's previous married name, not her maiden name -

Marriage -

Bride - Caroline Elizabeth Gardner

Henry (31 Gardener Domestic Servant Woodchester), Caroline (32 Grocer Berkeley) and a son Henry C F? (8 Scholar Eastington) can be found in Stonehouse in 1891 RG12/2021 Folio 85 Page 3

So Henry C F would be a half brother to Rosa?

Just been refreshed Smiley...i have found a death of henry browning (32) in stroud.....that fits perfectly with ur theory of previous marriage to Caroline Elizabeth Gardner...it also fits with henry's age in the 1891 census u sent me as your last post.
