Hi Nina

Just posting a link to your earlier post about the McCrackens, I see you have the 1891 and 1901 census for the father Patrick and the family.

So I guess you are wanting to go further back now, have you found them in the 1881 census?

Hi Ecneps you are right i do have that info i am looking formore parts off the puzzle, when i asked my grandmother she didnt tell my me about the other brother Frank or the sisters Mary and Betty so i am trying to find where they fit in.

Hi Half Pint my Owen was born around the same time just i dont know much eles about him apart from that he was in WW1,as for your Eliza i am not sure as mine was called Betty and she was Owens sister before she married so she was only a McMillan by marrage she was a Mccracken by birth.

If you get the certificates for the two you are sure about, they will specify mothers maiden name. If you go to freebmd and specify Mccracken and cockermouth from say 1877 to 1912 (20 year span of childbearing before and after Owen and Joseph) and look for the names you've got, you can ask only to be sent certs with that maiden name on. Freebmd has owen in 1892 by the way.
