I collect drawings and I have purchased from auction an old leather Scrapbook embossed with gold, that belonged to Clementina Stewart from Grandtully. I did not know that location until I receive the book because a lot of scenes are identified and are from Scotland. It seems to be Grandtully and Murthly Castle from Scotland and it is dated 1823.
There are original drawings and engravings and watercolor portrait. Very beautiful. So beautiful, that I took my scrapbook to my local Museum yesterday and they told me that what I call “engravings” are probably original brown ink drawings with subject of that era, made by an excellent artist. I don’t know if it is Clementina Stewart that did them as I cannot find any signature that looks like her name. There are a few with initial but cannot make it. One little one (watercolor portrait) I think it is signed Sarah Stewart.
There are a few drawings of a Murthly Castle and Grandtully, sceneries, old man and portrait and old scene with Queen and jester? About 45 images in total.
also, there is handwritten note from 1824: Doctor Sherlock upon death wrote a book too long by half for when thought time he lost his breath Death ... wrote his epitaph with initials TS or JS or ?
Does anyone know who Clementina Stewart was? When I search on the net, all I can find is a song? And that lady from the song was not alive in 1823.
Description on the coat of arms inside the cover page:
Top: 2 bees (left) and a sun like a happy face (right) Shield is devise by 4 and there is 8 buttons on it. 1- is checkers in a rectangular line 2 - is a moose head 3- seems like 3 legs joint together without a body, but could be other? 4- a sailboat or Viking boat with two flags?
If you find anything about Clementina Stewart I would appreciate to read about it.
Sorry for my misspellings, I am French!
Thank you for your time.

just happened to reply to a P/M and found this discussion
Charles STEWART of Ballechin, who died in 1764, was H of Grissel MERCER of Aldie
Had a child B C 1728 in Ballechin, their 5th child was named Clemintina. this Clemintina STEWART married in 1749 to John STEWART 4th Bt of Grandtully, their second daughter was "Clemintina"b.c. 1748, I would be interested in finding more on this topic
My documents and drawings dates from the 1820s and some drawings from a later date. From the coat of arms, apparently she happens to be the daughter of Sir George Stewart of Grandtully, born in 1800.
