Doh!  Roll Eyes

What am I like ?  (as the modern young women say today  Undecided

If you check the parish record look up exchange at www.suffolk-surnames-list.co.uk you will find that Yaxley is listed, although I do not have a volunteer for Wenhaston, there is one for Beccles.

The 'Surnames' web site will be updated, I am saving my pension to have a professional web designer help out with the re-launch, but if you have any trouble contacting the Volunteers, do please let me know  Wink

I have just checked the original image and he is listed as a miller born Yaxley Suffolk and she is born Wenhaston Suffolk.

If you do not have a subscription to A******y I will happily contact the owner of this tree on your behalf.

You can PM me your email address if you would like me to go ahead?

Oh dear!  I need a holiday - I suspect that tracn4 is the owner of the tree I have been looking at  Roll Eyes

Perhaps it is time to lie down in a dark room for a while!

Hi Pat

I see you have found my tree on ancestry,tracn4 is my name on here and on there Smiley
I don't have a current subscription but when i did I couldn't turn up anything on john.

I don't know if john did milling in suffolk as well as in norfolk and I'm not sure where his father john did the milling.

I have a photocopy of john nunn and  joanna clarkes marriage certificate says
marriage solemnized at parish church in the parish of beccles in the county of suffolk
nov 17th 1875 between john nunn age 24 a miller from kenninghall norfolk and joanna clarke age 25 from beccles
his father john nunn was a miller and her father john clarke was a gardener

Thank you for all your help also Smiley

Hi Pat,

I've just found your query, I don't check the site as often as I should...

I have found the following references to John Nunn, miller, which you might find useful, and make help you locate the parish you need to check for your relatives birth details.  Here goes...

John Nunn,             Ricklinghall Inferior 1829
John Nunn,             Finningham             1800
John Nunn,             Botesdale                1823
John Nunn,             Ipswich                    1855, 58
John Nunn sen,      Wenhaston (millwright) 1858, 64
J. Nunn,                  Ilketshall Saint Lawrence 1864
John Nunn,             Fornham Saint Martin   1900
John Bidwell Nunn, Claydon                   1815

Hope this helps.

Windy Miller

PS any info you glean on your millers I really like to add to my database, if you don't mind passing it on.

Hi Tracn4,

The excellent wind & water mill site covering Norfolk (Jonathan Neville's baby) also has a few references to John Nunn, a miller.  These may be relatives but the first reference I've listed seems too young to be direct relations.  They are :-

John Nunn    Garboldisham Mill, 1872, aged 21. (More info at site)

http://www.norfolkmills.co.uk/Windmills/garboldisham-postmill.html

John Nunn  Kenninghall, 1844. (Not much more info)

http://www.norfolkmills.co.uk/Windmills/kenninghall-lopham-rd-smockmill.html
