I ama trying to trace any family of James McPhaden born  Torosay Kinlochspelvie 1823 , father Malcolm private in the 78th foot, mother Elizabeth Ginenen or Gunn, also any records of a John born approx 1823 at sea in the St Georges Channel, I don't know if they were from the argyll area, or was the father a soldier near here
