James Tompsett of Fletching and Withyham

My x4 g/grandfather, James Tompsett, was born at Fletching in the 1760s and married Elizabeth (?) probably in the late 1780s or early 1790s.  They had lots of children at Withyham in the 1790s and 1800s.  I'd love to know where they were married, what her maiden name was, and where she came from.  Please can anyone help?

James Tompsett yeo bach of Mayfield to Elizabeth Mepham sp at Mayfield 2 Oct 1806 by licence

Nothing in between to an Elizabeth.
