Parker Street UD Nottinghamshire
« on: Sunday 09 August 09 20:31 UTC (UK) »

Hi

Does anyone know which area of Nottinghamshire Parker Street is/was?  I know UD stands for urban district, but I don't know what part of Notts this is now known as.

I've found out there's a Parker Street in Hucknall, Sutton in Ashfield, but am unsure if this is the right one.  I've had a look on google map but can't tell if they're victorian/edwardian terrace houses.

Park Street is the last place my great grandmother lived, I need to find out the parish and hopefully locate her burial ground.  We found out where she lived on her death cert, she died June 1914.

Her previous homes were all quite close to Nottingham.

Many thanks - Jessica.

Hi

Hucknall Cemetery records are online at the Ashfield Council site.

Hi Jessica,

You don't give your G Grandmothers name, this might help.  You could also contact Nottingham Library, they have a lot of maps and are good at emailing help to folk!  Just a thought.

Hi

Thanks for your messge.  I will have to visit Nottingham again, I've already been once but didn't check the cemetery records.

Her name is Jessie O'Malley nee Moody. Born 1881 or 1882 in Attercliffe, Sheffield.  Died 28 June 1914 at Nottingham Workhouse Infirmary, Bagthorpe, her records states she was buried by "friends" which must mean her husband Patrick.  I found Patrick really easily, he's buried with his second wife.

Hi Jessica,

Well I have searched the General Cemetery records, and there are no   records for your Jessie O'Malley.

I wonder with the date of her death if she might  be in the Wilford Hill cemetery.  If so I believe the records are still held by the cemetery, and therefore there is a charge for the search....I think the info for them and all cemeteries in Nottingham are on the Notts County Council site.

Hope that helps.

Best wishes,
