GIBBINGS of Devon
« on: Monday 10 August 09 08:29 UTC (UK) »

Hi All,

I have a John Luxton Gibbings born in Teignmouth on the 3rd Sept 1853. His parents were William Gibbings (possibly William George Gibbings) and Jane Loutten. I think Jane died in 1875 in Teignmouth at about 62 years old. William was born about 1811 in North Tawton and I think he died between 1861 and 1871. Can anyone help me with the date of death for both William and Jane and also the parents of William. I have been trying to link William with the other Gibbings families being researched in Devon but to date have had no success.

Cheers

Hi Eupham,

Here's what looks like William's death registration:

Hi All,

I've been trying without success to find a Gibbings that married a Luxton in Devon. I hope that if I do I might find they had a son William born about 1811 that may be my William Gibbings. I know it's a long shot but the fact that my William and Jane had a John Luxton Gibbings makes me think that William's mother may have been a Luxton. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Hi All,

I've found a William Gibbings who married Lovedy Luxton on the 22nd Aug 1805 in Wembworthy, Devon. Now all I need to do is find their children. If they are the parents of my William Gibbings b. abt 1811 it would make sense, as well as having John Luxton Gibbings b. 1852 he had a daughter Loveday Anna Gibbings b. 1842. If anyone is able to find the baptism of William and Lovedy's children I would be extremely greatful.  Grin

Cheers.
