Another Thompson mystery
« on: Monday 10 August 09 14:04 UTC (UK) »

Garfield James Thompson (sometimes referred to as James) was born in 1886 in Motcombe, Dorset. He was the son of Henry and Elizabeth nee Morgan. he married a Beatrice Eliza Gray in Weymouth, Dorset in 1915 and there the trail ends.  I can find no records for any children or any death, tried FreeBMD but am now stuck can someone push me in the right direction please.  What I want to find out is if they stayed in Weymouth and if they had any children.

Thanking someone in advance. Huh

as you say, no Thompson / Gray births in Dorset up to c1935

there is a 'namesake' female born in Basford ..

xxx Thompson (not explicit or the 'might be still alive' rule will be applied)
Mother's Maiden Surname: Gray
1Q1920
Registration district: Basford
Volume Number: 7b
Page Number: 704

Pity they didnt name a son after him !

Have you checked emigration records and passenger lists ?

Thanks, no have not checked any emigration etc as the rest of the family stayed local to the Dorset/Wilts area so thought I would look there, perhaps that is where I need to head next, they are driving me round the twist, they just disappear.
