I have a John Wilkinson aged 65 occupation joiner, living in Tarporley 1841. The address is unclear, I think it is Quarry House.
Does anyone know what this residence was? It appears lots of folk and families lived there.

Hi, Liverbird, have you looked at the cheshire tithe maps at the following: http://maps.cheshire.gov.uk/tithemaps/ If you enter Tarporley and then look for Birch Heath to the West of the town on the 1910 map on the left you will see a disused quarry. If you then use the tithe apportionment tool you will see that there was a building on the opposite side of the lane of three dwellings, (it looks like this would be Redhill Cottages) when compared with the more recent maps, this might have been what you were looking for or there is also: Redhill farm Good Hunting Kathb

Thanks so much, Kathb, I am still getting to grips with using the tithe maps, they are very good aren't they? I will give it another whirl this evening. I have found the quarry which is a start. Many thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Jean

Hi again Kathb, Have had a lot of fun exploring the maps. Finally found the building opposite the quarry you referred to and it does look likely or the farm. I will have a walkabout one day, now I have a map to guide me.
Many thanks
