Another Thomas Luck?

A maintenance order was issued against Joseph Howson for his illegitimate son Thomas by Elizabeth Luck between 10th April and 3rd June 1820 in Gt Munden.

I am looking for any other details on the order. Also the birth details of Thomas if there is anyone that can help.

Hi Margaret,

The IGI records a baptism of a Thomas LUCK s/o Joseph and Elizabeth LUCK at Geat Munden on 27Feb1820.

Thankyou Peter for your help. I am not sure if that is the right birth for this Thomas as Elizabeth was a spinster at the time. Are there any other birth dates around that time.?

Can you see a marriage for Joseph Howson to Elizabeth. Are you able to look at the 1841 census to see if any of them are there.

Hi Margaret,

I cannot find any other births around this time neither is there a marriage for Joseph and Elizabeth in the Hertfordshire Marriage Index or Herts IGI. I searched my copy of the 1841 but  no trace of these folk in Great Munden.

I will check the 1820 baptism with the parish register on my next visit to HALS.

Hello Peter,

Thankyou for your kind offer. The only spinster Elizabeth that might be a possible mother to Thomas was born 1790, her grandfarther was a Thomas. Maybe they died.

I checked the Parish Register and found   ......

27Feb1820  Thomas  s/o Elizabeth LUCK of Gt.Munden a labourer.

with the added note   ...   'Related Father Joseph HOUSEN.'

At last, a helpful cleric.
