*Completed* Thomas & Elsie Dunn, buried in Oregon
« on: Wednesday 12 August 09 18:08 UTC (UK) »

My grandfather's brother, Thomas Elliot Dunn, was relocated to the west coast, courtesy of the US Navy, shortly after his marriage (c. 1917). They appear in San Diego in the 1920 and 1930 censuses, but he died in 1938 in Oregon. She lived until 1974, but seems not to have had much contact with her inlaws (I had no idea she was alive during my childhood). I found records online that indicate they were buried in Greenwood Cemetery, in/near Bend, Oregon.

In case it might help, he was born in Big Bay, Ontario, and the family moved to Michigan when he was a teen. Tom was married, living in Michigan, and working in Ontario as of the 1910 census.

I am trying to find Elsie's maiden name. Her death certificate lists her as Elsie Aug Dunn, but I can't tell whether Aug is her maiden name or a shortened form of a middle name (Augusta, for example). Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

There's an Ontario birth record for Elsie Augusta Hill, born 10 Jan. 1890 in Lambton County, daughter of Albert Hill & Louise Augusta Couse.  Elsie was in Ontario for the 1891, 1901, & 1911 Census.

Thank you so much! I had tried familysearch, but couldn't find the right combination of search terms, or something. It wasn't finding anything for me.

I was working from memory when I posted, so I apologize for the misinformation with respect to dates.

Again, thank you so much! You've been so helpful.
