Hi Gary
I checked the Gloucestershire Burial Index without finding anything that matches your family. There are plenty of RUDGES, including Coleford. No Thomas for the right date and no Maria in the right place/ old enough to have been Thomas's wife.
Let me know if you want me to check other villages or name variants.
regards

Me again!
Bearing in mind the Herefordshire connection, this thread may interest you:
http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/read/GLOUCESTER/1998-06/0897281365
It details a Thomas RUDGE born 1784 GLS, sons James and Thomas, the latter with wife Mary in 1851. Only problem is they are in Birmingham!!

Dear Gary,
Was thrilled to see your post regarding Thomas Rudge because his wives, Susan and Maria Macklin are the only 2 daughters of my 3G grandfather, Thomas Macklin. His three sons headed off to Australia, and I am descended from the oldest son. I have no further information about what happened to Susan and Maria, or any children after they married Thomas Rudge. I would be very grateful if there is any information you could share regarding them or their descendants.
