In 1964 I met some relatives of my husband who I think had fairly recently celebrated their 75th Wedding Anniversary, I was shown a telegram from the Queen and other congratulatory letters. They lived in a cottage in Seagrave, and although I can remember a lot about that visit their names completely escape me.Does anyone know who this couple was, If it was who I think it might be their name was Brown.

Thanks for the suggestion, do you happen to know which papers might cover Seagrave, does Loughborough have one. Unfortunately can't check through local library as I am out of country. Liz

Sorry I couldn't get back to you all sooner, the internet has been down. Thanks for suggestions,I have tried following some of them up but access seems to be a problem. Thanks Mike for Brown marriages, the one I was thinking of occurred in Warwickshire but the wife was from seagrave originally, but on further looking they were not married until the mid nineties as were nearly all the other marriages where both partners survived past th 1911 census,so perhaps it was the 70th. I think the couple must have had some relationship with the Cramps who lived in Seagrave during the the mid to late 18 hundreds since this is the only connection I know which lived in Seagrave, and I knew the other two ladies who were present and they were descended from Eliza Cramp through her daughter Rebecca Buxton.

I can't remember where the cottage was in relationship to anything else. It may have been slightly uphill from the centre there was a garden in front and some aple trees it was old and looked somewhat like Sundial Cottage although I can't remember whether the roof was thatched or tiled. Liz
