I am trying to find any record of a possible marriage for a George Beard, born 1867 in Chailey, East Sussex. Unfortunately I have no idea if he even got married as he was still single at the age of 44 and I don't have any female names that have been suggested!!
I do have the following info from the 1881 census but that's about it I'm afraid  :

Ignore me, I must take a break!
He is with his brother Ernest in 1911......age 44, and with his mother in 1901 age 34.
Who did his brother Ernest marry? There's a George BEARD of right age in Lewes 1911 ; when I ask for George BEARDS in Lewes with other BEARDS I get one with an Ernest age 36, Fanny age 39, Maud age 6 and Joan F age 1 mth. The George in their house could be a child......

FreeBMD shows a death for a George Beard age 44 Dec 1911 ref Lewes 2b 208 , so obtaining this certificate should show his marital status.

Hi there, did you get any further looking for George Beard. I am researching the Beard family and George is my Great Uncle, his brother William was my Grandad. I posted more or less the same message as you on Genesreunited and did not get any replies. The notes I have in my tree for George are the last I have seen from the 1911 census and they are:- In 1911, George was still single at the age of 44 and living at 1 Brook St, Lewes with his Mother and Ernest.
I read one of your replies to say that he died, but has that been confirmed as yet.
Might I ask what connection you have with the Beard family please as we could swap each other's info that has been found to date.

Thats no problem, I have the data - why not share it
I got quite annoyed whilst on holiday as I knew I could answer several queries - but my data was all at home in Hastings; and anyway, was not sure how my 'dongle thingy' would work on my laptop or if I would be in a poor reception area.
