Isabella-daughter-age 12
John-son-age 9-born Berwick
Rachel-age 7-born Berwick
Thomas-age 5

also:-
John BUGLASS-age 68-may be a widower-born Scotland-fisherman
probably living Berwick

Many thanks,
Trisha.

_____________________________________________

I got the above info mainly from Surnames Index for Berwick, but also had chance to see film of actual census pages...

Four Rachels for you to consider, 3 Babs,

* oops, I must have forgotten to get his occ... later..
** Index said folio 427... it was actually on reverse of Folio 426.
*** A bit contradictory here... labelling her a pauper, yet also keeping a lodging house ?
**** spelled " Barbary" ... me guessing here, but have come across this a few times, think Barbara was more modern form.

Go to it !

Trisha,

Yesterday I had my nose in Indexes ( on ficrofishes) of Berwick Parish BMD records...

eg Peter Buglass bapt 14/10/1828 parents John and Rachel

his sister Barbara bpt 19/6/1836

his brother John bpt 12/10/1823 . Looks as though this John/Rachel had at least 6 children in era from 1813 onwards.

Other couples having children were Caleb/Jane, Thomas Hall Buglass/Jane Dixon, John/Phillis, Thomas Beresford Buglass/Catharine, John/Spears ( Iron Moulder... Joseph bapt 28/11/1852... a Thomas Buglass of Greenses, was buried 1/9/1851, aged 7 months), Robert/Jane

Have you already got these, or do you want all ?

Hi Michael,
many thanks for thinking of me.If it's not too much trouble any info you have would be wonderful and very useful, especially for the couple called John and Rachel(especially if it mentioned her maiden name). The said John was married 3 times,he was also married to an Isabella(who I think was his last wife) and a Phyllis(whose name was I think White). He had a lot of children with these 3 so as you can imagine trying to find out who is related to who is a nightmare!
Any help is very gratefully recieved-thank you.
