Hi everybody,
My Father was Frederick Charles FUDGE b 1918 Sturminster Newton, Dorset d 1998 Leeds, West Yorkshire, he married Gladys Mary FUDGE nee SAWDEN b1921.
My fathers parents were William FUDGE b 1868 Sturminster Newton d 1921, he was married to Annie Beatrice Ellen LANE b 1879 Sturminster Newton d c1940 Bournemouth, there children were,
Florence Lilly b 1896 d ? she married a Fred SHAVE,
Bertha Annie b 1899 d ? she married a Sam MAUNDER,
Ellen Mary b 1901 d ? other info not known,
Gordon Dudley b 1903 d ?
Mona Audrey May b 1909 d ?
Lovell Leslie R b 1912 d 1969, he was known as Leslie,
Ronald George b 1913 d 1989, he married Irene MAUNDER,
Ernest W b 1915 d ? Ernest was the son of Tim STARK who after Williams death in 1921 went on to become stepfather to the family........yes he was born before William had died making him a love child, Ernest being the son of Tim still used the FUDGE name all through his life.
After him came my father Frederick as above.

I have info that says William FUDGE could have been the son of Sarah FUDGE bap 1848 daughter to Emanuel FUDGE b c 1812 Sturminster Newton, bap Dec 25 1812 he married Jan 28 1833 Maria GREEN b c 1814 Hamoon Dorset, d c 1870 Sturminster Newton.
I've also been told by other researchers that Sarah could be the daughter of Jonathan FUDGE b c 1807 Sturminster Newton d bef 1881 he married Mary CLUETT b c 1807 Sturminster Newton d ?
There daughter was Sarah Ann FUDGE b 7 Jun 1849 Sturminster Newton d 30 Dec 1916 Bournemouth, Hampshire.
So that would make William grandson to Jonathan & Mary.
That is my WALL.

Here are your Sarah's other possible parents in 1841. Doesn't break down your wall but gives you a few more names to chase  There are 90 Fudges in Sturminster Newton Castle (plus 2 more in Sturminster Union Workhouse) in 41 - so not surprising you've got 2 possibles for Sarah

Hi Jan,
I'm still here trying to break my wall down and with some success the family that you have posted is the one I'm not attached to, I have info which I will post in a day or two, there daughter Sarah Ann who is not in the family in 1841 as she was born later c 1850, I have found her in 1871 Married to a Thomas LEWIS and with 2 children.............with no sign of my grandfather William he would have been 3 in 1871 so he has to be the son of Sarah FUDGE daughter of Emanuel FUDGE & Maria nee GREEN, I will post much more soon
