Map of census counties
« on: Sunday 16 August 09 13:31 UTC (UK) »

Hi,
Can any body help.

I am looking for a simple black and white map showing the English, Scottish & Welsh counties that matches the counties in the 1841 to 1911 censuses.

What I want to do is to colour in individual counties to show those counties, that contain individuals with my surname.

I have found a coloured map but I am having difficulties in converting it to black and white as the colour shows through in the centre of letters such as bdeg etc,

I may need two maps as London seems to have become separate from other counties from the 1871 census onwards
Thanks for your help
Regards

I have downloaded this map and  converted it to black and white although the colours do show as shades of gray. http://www.abcounties.co.uk/counties/map.htm
