Births September qtr 1863 Hugh William Hughes West Derby 8b 342
There are a number of William Hughes marriage to a Margaret between 1860-1863 so you would need to buy a copy of one of the children's birth certs to find Margaret's maiden name

Hi,
The BVRI stands for the British Isles Vital Records Index and was at one time available as a set of discs. It is now free to search on the Latter Day Saints site. www.familysearch.org . Choose "search records" from the list at the top, then click on "record search pilot" . Once it has loaded enter his name, event - marriage, year 1900 and type in Lancashire. Hover over the Lancashire bit and select Lancashire England. The marriage is at the top and if you click on his name it should bring the record up with previously married.
Hope this works.
Regards, Mo

Thank you so much everyone!
The only query now is finding what happened to Hugh William Hughes married to Margaret as he doesn't appear on any census with her or his children but can be found on the marriage between Hugh William Hughes and Margaret E Duckworth in 1862!
Why do you think he is not on any census? Prison or Army?
