Hi Lotte
I would re-check who Ann W Dodds married, according to Freebmd William Franklin is just one of four possible husbands, but if you look on yorkshirebmd you will see that Ann married Jacob Brown at St Andrew (Drypool).

Sorry, Lottee, but this is all very garbled.
You're mentioning information about censuses and age differences, but we don't have the relevant info, so it's very difficult to follow what you're trying to say and, therefore, difficult to help.
It looks as if it's the Franklin family who you're trying to trace back. Is that correct?
Bee has already suggested that Ann W Dodds married a Jacob Brown in 1843 - NOT your William Franklin.
I'd suggest you need to get Emily's birth certificate to find the names of her parents. Have you found the reference for Emily's birth in the FreeBMD indexes? Looks like it's probably December Quarter 1856 Sculcoates Vol 9d Pg 116. From there, you should hopefully be able to find the correct marriage for her parents.

Hi Lotte
If you want William Franklin on the 1841 census he's transcribed as Frankle and living with John & Elizabeth aged 70 & 81 in West Green, Cottingham, living next door is the Wride family.

Hi Lottee
If the 1841 Franklins in Cottingham are yours then they are buried in St Mary's churchyard in Cottingham. I have the MI's for Cottingham and John Franklin departed this life 26/4/1842 age 69 and wife Elizabeth died 14/3/1846 aged 84
There is also an entry for a William Franklin who died 16/12/1879 aged 73, this is a seperate grave from John & Elizabeth.
