Hi there,

If anyone is venturing to Matlock or any other library that holds records for Ticknall and/or Calke, I would be extremely grateful for any other info in the registers on the following marriages.

1780 14th Mar, Francis Young & Judith Knifton - Ticknall

1775 19th Jun, Daniel Shrieve & Elizabeth Bryan - Calke
1803 7th Mar, Henry Young & Susannah Sherieve(shrieve?) - Calke

Hello all,

I've just discovered that the Young/Knifton marriage was by licence. I assume there would have been some kind of application type document filled out to obtain the licence?

If anyone visiting Matlock records office, who has an understanding of these things would kindly do a look-up for me I would be extremely grateful.
