Archie Dennis Smith
« on: Thursday 13 November 08 07:04 UTC (UK) »

Hi, Can anyone help?  I am looking for information on Archie Dennis Smith born 1901, married "Ted" and had 2 daughters Jennifer and Susan.  They lived in East Ewell in 1944.  Archie was my fathers uncle and I have a letter that was sent to him in 1948.  That is the last contact that I know of.  Archie's mother was Minnie Beatrice (nee Booth) and she also lived in East Ewell.
I hope someone can help.
Thanks
Margaret

Thanks Ian,

Stanley H was my grandfather.  He came to Australia.  But I have absolutely no information about the rest of the family after the 1901 census except that my father visited them during the war and then the letter they sent in 1948.

Smiths in Ewell

My Great grandmother was Minnie Beatrice Smith and she died in 1950.  I have her address as The Kingsway in Ewell. She had many children...of whom Archie Denis and Charles Aubrey also lived in Ewell.  Charles Aubrey & wife Dorothy lived in Cheam Road in 1950.  Archie Denis and wife Edwina lived with 2 daughters Jennifer and Susan.  Does anyone have any idea how I can continue to trace them?

I gather from a previous thread that Charles Aubrey Smith was born 1892 and Archie Den(n)is Smith was born 1901.

In the old phone books I can see C. Aubrey Smith at Aboyne House, Cheam Road from the 1930's until 1957, then at 150 Grove Road, Sutton until 1964.
