« on: Sunday 19 October 08 18:41 UTC (UK) »

Address shown is 249 Queens Road.
Her father is shown as Robert Underwood.
I cannot find this famiy on 1901 census and would really appreciate help with this.

thanks guys
I think you have got him.
After your prompting I have scrutinised the certificate and can now make it out as insurance agent.
Quite possible Maud not at home as both her and George give the same address of 249 Queens Road.

thanks for your help

Hi,

Bride and Groom often used the same address to save the expense of having the Banns read in 2 parishes!  I have a few examples of this in my own tree.

I know this is a little late and may not be of any help but I have also found the first wife Eliza Langridge still alive in 1901 with a son called Walter born 1883. Don't be misled by the Middlesex - the original text read Kent but someone crossed it out and inserted Middsx (not having heard of the one in Kent I suppose). Do you have a birth certificate for Maud as I am not sure who her mother is?

Name:     Eliza Underwood

Hi Richard and welcome to rootschat.

I do not have a birth certificate for Maud, I guess that has to be the next step as I can't follow the second and possibly third marriages of Robert Underwood.
On the 1911 census Caroline states they have been married 13 years which would make it about 1898. Maud looks to have been born in 1883 which also ties in with her marriage certificate. Caroline also gives her place of birth as Devizes in Wiltshire.
So , not only does she change from Catherine in 1891 to Caroline in 1901 and 1911 but her age changes and her place of birth.
I cannot find any second or third marriage of Robert to either Caroline or Catherine.
Hope you're not totally confused now as I am.
