Nathan, If you trawl through the postings for Sutherland, I am sure you will find a fairly recent entry ref mackays in Bettyhill. I have some Mackays from there but none of your names ring any bells. I am sure you will get some good help, and welcome to rootschat. I wish I had found it earlier. I have received some unbelieveable assistance and found many new family. Good luck, Ian

Thankyou very much Ian.
Ive just found out through my father that in fact May married and became May Leslie. She married a policeman and thier son was Donald Leslie who died recently. The brother of my gran was in fact angus.
Once I get my facts sorted it will make things much easier. thanks again nathan

Nathan,
Neil Mackay 1882-1948 was the son of Thomas Mackay 1849-1932. Thomas was the son of Lachlan Mackay about 1792 - 1888. Lachlan was the brother of my own ancestor Alexander Mackay. I think Skelphit Farm should maybe read Skelpick Farm Regards Duncana

Hi Nathan I have found the Scotlandspeople website very useful. You can get Register and census images from them, although you have to pay. Worth a few pounds anyway, to get the written images instead of Ancestry garbled versions. Duncana
