Henry Golden PARTRIDGE, 1818 - Gorleston
« on: Sunday 23 August 09 17:11 UTC (UK) »

hi,  i dont know if anyone does lookups from gorleson, but i am desperately looking for the parents and siblings of my henry golden partridge.  i know who he married and of his own family, but i cant seem to find anything about his family background.  the family tales say he is related to the famous partridges who were surgeons and artists.  i know my golden was listed as an artist and portrait painter in his occupation in the census.

i would greatly appreciate any information.  thanks.

Was it after 1.7.1837?  If so - do you have his marriage cert showing his fathers name and occupation

Who did he marry as I cannot find a marriage on freebmd for a Henry Golden Partridge up to 1861.  There are lots of Henry's but none with that middle name

Hi kitca

You can search for Birth/Marriage/Death entries on FreeBMD

http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/search.pl

This is not yet complete but it does cover an enormous number of BMDs.  If a life event is not listed yet, there are pay to view sites such as findmypast.

http://www.findmypast.com/welcome.jsp

Once you have found an entry for a BMD that you are interested in, make a note of the reference and then you can order the certificate online.

i just followed all of the directions and ordered the marriage cert.

i did not realize that it would have their parents first and last names and occupations listed on the marriage certs.  i thought i would just get a cert. of their marriage.

i dont think so, i know he was about 20 years older than her.  it is the only marriage i can find, and she is the grandmother of my grandfather.  i think she died younger though, as the stories are of golden and not any of her.

i ordered the certificate, im really hoping to get some good info from it.   it is the first one i have ever ordered.

Not bad, but RootsChat is the best forum on the net.  Why would anyone post anywhere else! Grin

I think that Carole was just making the point that if you make duplicate posts, folk can end up going over the same ground as others and wasting their effort. Sad  We prefer that you make just one post on a subject on RootsChat, and if you don't get the response that you were hoping for, you can ask a moderator to move it to another board to see if it fairs better there.

It's very exciting waiting to receive your first BMD certificate.  I hope that you find some of the answers you are hoping for. Smiley
