Beatrice Ramsay m.s Hagen
« on: Sunday 23 August 09 19:30 UTC (UK) »

Hi

Totally new to roots chat so hello everyone! Grin

I am slowly piecing together my family history and one person in particular I would like more info on is Beatrice Ramsay m.s. Hagen. Beatrice was born in Denistoun in Glasgow in 1889. In 1917 she married Robert Ramsay. I am not sure where they went after that, but Beatrice died in Largs in 1967, six years after Robert. Has anyone got any info whatsoever on Beatrice?

Many Thanks

Laurence

Hi Carole

Thanks very much, I have that info (maybe I should have put post 1917!). One interesting piece I have also found is that when she married in 1917, her grandparents are down on the marriage cert as her parents. Whether she was legally adopted I don't know, or was this to make it look better for her prospective husband? I have her birth cert and it has "illigitemate" on it. What a horrible thing to put.

Many Thanks

As a matter of interest, where do you get your info so readily from? I usually take hours searching Scotlands People!

Hi

I use Ancestry.co.uk  They don't have the actual images - just the transcriptions

I searched on beat** hag* in case her name had been mis-transcribed

Thanks Carole, might give it a go. I thought that it was only any use for England and Wales.
