Cochrans of Paisley
« on: Sunday 23 August 09 21:02 UTC (UK) »

I've done quite a bit of digging on my grandmothers paternal line, but have now almost reached a dead end  Huh and would appreciate any help or advice you could give me.

I've got quite a bit of information on William Cochran B 27/06/1798 and his wife Elizabeth Knox.  Williams first son was called Allan, which leads me to believe that Williams father was Allan Cochran born circa 1772 in Paisley (married to Janet Lyle).  But I'm struggling to trace any farther back.

I've found an Allan and Adam Cochran (twins of John Cochran and Janet Adam of Neilston, Renfrew) but am not sure if this is the correct link.

Any information which could help, or ideas on where to check next would be gratefully received!
