have hit a brick wall with Sarah Hardy daughter of Henry and Martha Hardy born in Kings Lynn in 1843. I can't find her or the family in the 1861 census nor can I find a marriage that might explain her "disappearance" .. she supposedly married James Noble circa 1869 and lived in County Durham for which I have the census records etc. but I have not found any marriage on Ancestry or Freebmd or Durham records online or in the GRO for a year either side.. I have tried lots of tricks but am banging my head now.. any thoughts or hints would be great. thanks.

Hi Have you got her on the 1851 census ricky yes she is living with her grandparents and some of her siblings.. but her parents were alive at the time and went on to have other children baptised in Kings Lynn up until 1859 .I can understand the father vanishing on returns as he was a mariner but the mother is missing in both 1851 and 1861 returns too.. I have been going round in circles on this for over a year now till my head spins.

Must admit I carnt see a marriage for her to a James Noble, how sure are you that you have the right Sarah, as on the 1861 she is down as Sarah A

Hi
I suppose she could have married someone else before she married James Noble
