Remembering those care free days of childhood

Hi James.
I am truly moved by your offer of the Freer photograph.
I would endeavour to find any connection to the family.
Although I tried to assist here, I am sorry to see it could not go to a relative at the moment.
P.M. on the way.
Sandy

Thanks again Son.
Brilliant.
Can you e-mail them to me, pretty please, as Rootschat has a file restriction and the original image would be great.

Thanks My Albert married Rose Warren, all her family are originally from Northampton, lots from Blisworth, although Rose was born in Leicester. Have quite a history of boatman from the area but don't know it well. If any thing can be found re my Herbert William Bryant that would be great, still looking for the military photo rather then the newspaper one I have!

Hi Willsy.
I have asked another member elsewhere if they can help.
Obviously it depends when he replies, with a Yes or No.

Thanks for that, fingers crossed
Just to add, have Albert's military records and also his brother George Frederick Ward. It looks like George's no was 3044 but he served 93 days and was sent home 6th June 1891, spent 42 days in hospital. On medical sheet in disease column says malfunction chest and remarks include, congenital chest-no treatment. Was admitted to hospital (still in Aldershot) 24th April 1891 and discharged 5th June 1891. I can't find him 1901 and wondered whether he could have re enlisted Albert joined the regiment at Northampton but George joined at Aldershot 6th March 1891, they were both born in Leicester.

I understand that numbers issued in WW1 changed if men transferred to a different unit. I am sure someone will correct this if I have got this wrong

Hi All
I will try to get around to answering later.
James what can I say, I am speechless, not enough to not give you my thanks though.
Your package arrived today and doing crafts myself and seeing the silk done by Henry, all those years ago brought tears to my eyes.
It is beautiful and has still kept it's colour after all these years.
Do you have a soldier of your own that I could make you a special card for in return for allowing me the articles which I will endeavour to return to the family.
Thanking you in allowing to be the custodian of such precious items.
Sandy
