Olive BOULTER
« on: Tuesday 25 August 09 09:17 UTC (UK) »

Does anyone have access to the original birth record of the above child. She was aged 13 in the 1911 census living with her grandparents named Quick in Twerton, Bath. In 1901 she is living with her grandparents Boulter in Farmborough, Somerset. Her mother is not present at this address.
I know that Olive was the illegitimate daughter of John Henry Quick, who by this time had left for Argentina to work on the railways. The family story goes that Olive's mother turned up on Henry's parents doorstep one day and said Olive was Jack's child and they could look after her! She certainly spent most of her younger life with them.
Many thanks if you would be good enough to do a lookup
Pam

Thanks for this - I had found in on BMD but I do not really want to have to purchase the certificate and am too far away to visit the local records office. I just wondered if anyone would be good enough to do a look up for me or to help me find an online source where I can look for the mother's name.

If she was baptised, someone may be able to look it up in the Parish Register - are there many Churches there ?

Otherwise, the only way is to get the Birth Cert ....  Sad

It might be better to forget the GRO Index and try a call / email to the local Register Office - sometimes they are quite helpful and will give you information .....  Wink Wink
