Miller marriage
« on: Wednesday 26 August 09 09:20 UTC (UK) »

I am trying to locate a marriage between THOMAS MILLER born between 1779-1781 born in Westmorland and HANNAH born between 1783-1791, she was born in Hull, Yorkshire. I do not know her surname.
Searching BMD registers I did find a HANNAH HOTMAN (1783) did wonder if this could be her.
Hope somebody can help.

Hi Dot,

Presumably you got their approximate birthdates and birthplaces from the census. Is there anything else you can tell us to help us track them down? Any children's names from the census? Where were they living?

Have you located either death/burial which might have given an age at death?

Thanks Gary. I've read it through (quickly, as I hate coming in the middle of a query!) and I'm still not sure where Hull comes into it for this unknown Hannah.

Dot, sorry, but "Hannah ? born 1783-91 somewhere in Hull" is an impossible task. Lots of churches in Hull; lots of Hannahs; lots of years. Can you narrow it down at all with the info you already have?

Also, from reading the link, am I right that the Hannah you think it might be is Hannah HOTHAM - not HOTMAN as you've typed in this thread?  Huh

Sorry, yes it is HOTHAM.

On the 1841 find my past there are children that were born in ST GILES DURHAM

I have got some feedback from the DURHAM post regarding these children.

If you can help I would appreciate it.
