in New Zealand Henry Luttrell Morton born 1825 died Napier 1868

Is he the father of Mary Ann Morton (1848-1926) who married Stephen Hooper in Napier in 1869?
I have an interest through the Hooper's.
Were there other Morton children?

I am also trying to locate Louisa Caroline MORTON who was born 1 July 1869 in Napier to parents from Kent, England.
She married Osborne George PINE on 24 December 1887 at Ashley Clinton, Hawkes Bay. Do you know if these two families are connected?

I did however find the following, which I suspect may be your missing Louisa Caroline MORTON ?
NZ Marriage Index
Louisa PINE - William James VICKERS - 1920
NZ Death Index
1942 - VICKERS - Louisa Caroline - 72 years (born circa 1870)

Seems there was a divorce from Mr. PINE ?
[I couldn't see a Divorce file for (PINE) on Archives NZ website, but not all of them are listed there anyway. ]
[You'd also need to check microfiche version of NZ Death Index (at library) to determine death place for Louisa.] EDIT: Burial place now found - Ormondville Cemetery, Hawkes Bay

I have not come across any other family but I would not rule it out
Henry Luttrell MORTON owned the Napier hotel in Hastings St
and his wife Margaret took over the running after his death
so on his death cert he is listed as Publican
there are a few listings in Papers past
on William Bowden Morton Death Cert he is listed as Carpenter

Yes, I realise that ... but napiergal has stated that Louisa's parents were from Kent (ENG) ... so obviously their names are known ?

Amongst the lists of Napier settlers found on Past Papers there is a William Morton living in Napier in 1859, who is a Saddler and Harness Maker.
Over the next few years a William Morton, turns up as living in other Hawke's Bay communities as a 'settler'.
Does he link to either family?
Mary Ann Morton and Caroline Morton are not my relatives - but married my relatives. I like to keep my files neat and tidy by giving everyone parents. Often I find they have married relatives and friends of the family.
