Moseley or Northfield search pretty please
« on: Thursday 27 August 09 12:42 UTC (UK) »

Hi Gang

Could some kind soul have a look at a couple of parishes for me (pretty please) as I am trying to help a friend of mine find someone - I have checked (in Worcester History Centre) all the parishes but 2 for the Kings Norton district looking for the marriage he wants to find - however the remaining 2 parishes which I couldn't search will be in the Warwickshire record office

William Collins = Alice A. Hughes SEP 1/4 1921 in Kings Norton district

Thanks to anyone who took the time to reade this request

All the very best

Phil

Hi
Phil

Your friend maybe best buying the Certificate GRO but if not? -then put Warwick records office in search. There are one or two posters who go to the records office. Its a case of trawling though old posts.

In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth.

Hi
Phil,

Its down to luck! If someone visits these archive/record offices anyway for what ever reasons in their own right! as I do here in Yorkshire but are usually  Pre 1837 info requests! As dates unknown. (time searching! involved)

Post 1837 known dates are availale on Film/Fiche for parish info on these know dates at most studies libraries, most will look up the said event free! then will sent a copy of the said event at about 50p+/- with a SAE request! (SHORT SHOT!)

Hi Dobby

I know what a pain it can be as I live in Weston-super-Mare (on holiday at the moment in Worcestershire) & when we try to do our research long distance we relly a hell of a lot on the good nature of others dont we & in turn we help others as much as we can (I spent the first 2 days of my holiday doing look ups for others at the History Centre in Worcester) but I bring this on myself so cant moan about it

All the very best

Phil
