Hi All
Would it be possible for somebody to look up the marriage details of John Jeffrey. The information I have so far is that he was born about 1801 in Little Horsted, Sussex. He and his wife had 10 children together the first Thomas Jeffrey being born in 1839.
Thank you for your help Patience

Why not tell us his wife's given name? It would help to ensure the right person is looked up.

Hi All,
Sorry I haven't got back to you earlier.
My John Jeffrey was married to a Mary (don't know her surname yet) So I think it must be the one that Lizdb mentions H0103 1643 587 9. If it is possible to have all the details I would be very much obliged. I need to confirm their marriage date and Mary's last name if at all possible.
Thank you all very much for your quick response and help. Best regards Patience

Mary is only 30 in 1851 - they may well have married after 1837. Have you looked for them in the civil registration marriages index?
Assuming they married before civil registration then the best the SMI offers is 5 June 1836, Lewes St John below the castle, John Jeffery and Mary Baker, botp after banns. Mary would have been be pretty young at this date, but Lewes isn't far from her birthplace of Glynde. I'd discount the other two - Mary is far too young in 1829 and Bodiam is less likely than Lewes.
But even the Lewes event is not an entirely convincing marriage. It'd be worth searching for this couple and their offspring elsewhere in order to check whether or not they're namesakes of your people. And don't neglect to search for a more likely marriage after 1837.
