Hi MIK

The IGI and LDS Search Labs
http://www.familysearch.org/eng/search/frameset_search.asp?PAGE=igi/search_IGI.asp&clear_form=true
http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#p=0
have the bapstisms of 2 x Lucy TRANGMAR, both in St Nicholas, Brighton
1 in April 1847 - dau of James and Christian
1 in January 1850 - dau of Thomas & Mary Ann

Suspect the 1847 bapstism may be your one? The purchase of the 1846 birth certificate might be necessary to be sure.

James (b abt 1803 Patcham) and Christian (b abt 1803 Steyning) are on the 1881 Census in Southwick Sussex
http://www.familysearch.org/eng/search/frameset_search.asp?PAGE=census/search_census.asp

They are also on the 1851 Census, with a 5 yr old daughter Lucy.
Will type up a transcript if you wish?

Cheers

Ambly. Very many thanks, I have spent most of today going through 1851 census to try and find Lucy and parents. I believe I have Lucy on 1861 census as Traugmar, a servant girl at 14years old, and so have tried all variations. I will look at your info more fully tomorrow, but Lucy's daughter was an Emily Christian so adds to this being the correct one. Again very many thanks MIK.

Ambly. Thanks. I never thought of looking up Family Search, I always look at that one for early 1800's and before, I will have to remember in the future. If only they had printed in those days we would have had the same name to look for all the time. ASgain Many Thanks MIK.
