Thank you so much for looking that up for me anyway Mike. On another branch of the tree, does your disc have marriages for Stoughton? If so would it be possible for you to look up a marriage of William Smalley to Mary Ann? It would be around 1830ish. Is your disc searchable by name as I have a Hill marriage where I'd like to know the maiden name of the wife, but I realise this is a massive task if you have to trawl through registers!  Roll Eyes

Thanks very much again, and if there is ever anything I can do to return the favour, let me know. I have subscriptions to Anc* and FMP.

Regards

With Ref to your Hill marriage …
Have you a few more details like a Christian name for the Husband
Plus the Village & approx year ?
Hill is a popular name.

Hi Mike

It may not have been Stoughton where they married then, I thought it might because William was born and died there. Mary was from Manchester apparently! But all their children I have found were born in Stoughton. The Hill marriage I was looking for was George Hill born 1817ish in Newbold Verdon to Catherine born in 1833ish in Rothley, but one census says Rotherby. Their first child was William Hill born 1853 in Leicester. I think the family lived in St Margaret's parish. I hope this is enough info for you Mike.

Thanks very much

Hi Mike

Thanks very much. I think it is the Catherine Rogers marriage that is my Catherine.

Does your disc have the marriages for Ashby de la Zouch? I am looking for a marriage between Isaac Davis and Ellen. Their first son was Robert Davis born in 1849 in Ashby.

Thanks again

Kind Regards
