This lady was referred to as the "Parish Widow" who married a Robert Green in Weeley, Essex, in 1819 at St Andrew's Church. I gained this info from paid research from the Essex RO.
In trying to sort out my 'Greens' i wonder if anyone could tell me what her maiden name might have been? Was Langlands her deceased husband's name? Might her maiden name have been 'Knopp or Knapp'?
I'm of the present understanding that Elizabeth was probably older than Robert, although there is still some uncertainty as to whether she married the father, Robert, or the son Robert! If the father it was his second marriage, and the first for the son, who would have been about 19.
I'm also believing she was born in 1781 in Weeley and died in 1842. I have a death certificate for an Elizabeth Green who died on the 25th Dec 1841 in Weeley. It states she was the "Wife of Robert Green Agricultural Labourer". The informant is unknown to me; Elizabeth Chaplin.
