In the 1871 census it states that my great grandad Thomas Harland was an Innkeeper in Wingate

Class RG10 piece4976 folio102 page 60

Can anyone tell me which Pub it is
Any info would be most welcome

Hi Cilla

The census is very uninformative about the location of Thomas Harland's address.  All I can discover is that it is Wingate, District 19 and the enumerator's description says "consisting of Wingate Colliery only".  My knowledge of Wingate is very limited: the 1894 map shows Wingate Grange colliery just to the West of Wingate and there is a public house on the track leading South East from the colliery.
