Hey Ann Marie,

if the offer's still going I have one or two things I'm looking for in Tipp Smiley

Firstly, I'm looking for a marriage between a Thomas Treacy and Ann Waters. I have no date of birth for either. The first child of theirs I could find was James in 1864 so I presume they would of married within a few years of that date. On that baptism cert, the address is down as Cooraclevin, Dunkerrin? But I think later on they were based around Ballingarry.

If you could find a birth cert for Thomas or Ann that would be amazing too.

Secondly, I'm looking for a birth cert for Timothy Killackey around 1846. His father should be a Daniel or Donal Killackey (as far as I'm aware). They would have lived close to Cloughjordan and surrounding areas. I've heard some of the family even stretched to Shinrone (practically in Offaly)

Thanks very much Smiley

Hello what a kind offer from you  Smiley

I recently discovered that a branche of my husband ancestors (great grand mother) is coming from Bansha, county Tipperary

I'm looking for information on the KEATING and the COLLINS from Bansha

John KEATING (born 1835 Bansha) emigrated circa 1860 in New Zealand. His parents were Mary or Ellen COLLINS and William KEATING...
I'm looking for his parent marriage and eventualy John's sibling

If you have spare time ...and can give me any search clue (I'm not familiar at all with Irish genealogy)

:-)

Hello,
I would like to respond to your generous offer to look for family in Tipperary. My search dates from 1859 back to the early 1800's I suspect. I am in the USA so do not have resources on local history books which could probably help me. Please let me know if you think there is anything helpful for me in this time period.
I have Hanora 'Nora' Craig who was born 1863 at Lower Garraun, Ballinahinch to John Craig and Bridget Flynn. They were married 1859 same location; John born abt 1838 at Borrisokane, appears to be the son of James Craig and Bridget McNamara and Bridget Flynn born 1839 Borrisokane appears to be the daughter of John Flynn and Ellen McDonald.
Are there any census or historical records that might tell me more about John Craig and his parents/family and about Bridgett Flynn and her parents/family?
Thank you for any help or advice. Nancie inTexas USA

Re: If anyone needs help in Tipperary - Begley family
« Reply #25 on: Sunday 04 October 09 07:18 UTC (UK) »

hello Annie, I'm new to this chat stuff so bear with me! my husband's family have roots in Tipperary.

His gt grandmother Elizabeth Begley was born in Cahir in 1867, her father John was a soldier in the Hampshire regiment.

John was baptised on 15 April 1842 in Nenagh - father Thomas Begly and mother Nancy Cummins. God parents William and Betty Begley.

John married Mary O'Donaghue probably around 1860 in Ireland I think - both very young and unusual for a soldier. I have looked at military BMD and have found a Mary Begley b in Athlone in 1862 - no further traces in UK censuses for this family. next child born in Shanghai and John spent most of his army career in India. Any leads on his marriage or ancestry or that of his wife appreciated.

Hello,
I've been searching for info on my GGG Aunt  Mary Catherine Gleason, b.1872  possibly in Tipperary. Her father was Patrick Gleason b. 1845, location unknown & is buried in Fermanagh, Drumully Parish, around 1926. I have no other info on Mary Catherine's parents.
She immigrated to America when she was 13 yrs. old & died in Oregon in Dec. 1920. I've requested a Death Cert. from the tiny community she lived in (Her first husband Peter Spiering died)
but I couldn't provide her  new husbands last name.
I'd sure appreciate any help you can offer. Thank You, Shari
