McGonigal family
« on: Monday 31 August 09 22:10 UTC (UK) »

I am trying to locate the childhood home of my wife's father Charlie McGonigal. He was born one of 12 children on June 8th 1916 in Glenariffe Co.Antrim. His parents Patrick and Rosetta(McAllister) McGonigal were married in Cushendall on June 7th 1905 and he was a farmer or farm worker in Glenariffe, before taking his family to Canada on May 29th 1927. We have seen a photograph of a small cottage with a very large rock painted white in front of it, which was supposedly the family home.
Patrick was born in Loughguile on April 28th. 1881 and Rosetta McAllister was born in Glenariffe on Nov 8th 1882.

I have only looked on the internet so far, but have been unable to locate any McGonigals. We are coming to Cushendall on 22nd Sept. I have spoken to Randal McDonnel ( historian) of Cushenden but he did not know anything.
