John Tyler - Children of
« on: Wednesday 02 September 09 15:56 UTC (UK) »

Hi,
I wonder if you can help I have a marriage 1801 John Tyler and Elizabeth Eleanor Hillery, St Dunstan Stepney. I am searching for any children they may have had. I can find nothing on the IGI but wondered if anyone could search Ancestry Christenings 1520+ for me as my subscription doesn't cover me. I think there is a George Tyler born 1811 Wanstead essex and I do think there may be others before him and after 1801. Any help most appreciated. Smiley

Hello irret

As you probably realise the christian names are not the best for research

St Dunstans was a popular place for Tyler marriages in the period that John & Elizabeth married! and their is even a couple of Hillery marriages so one assumes the families are local to the area!

The IGI's do have these.......
Parents...John jun. Tyler and Elizabeth
Eliza Tylor c.28th Jun 1805  London
Mary Ann Tyler c.8th Jul 1807  London
--------
Parents John Tyler and Elizabeth
William Tyler b.19th Sep 1808....c.15th Oct 1809....St Mary at Hill, London
--------
Parents John Tyler and Elizabeth
John Tyler b.9th Feb 1811 St Sepulchre...c.18th Jun 1811
--------
Parents John Tyler and Elizabeth
Elizabeth Tyler c.18th Jun 1815...St Mary Whitechapel
--------

All of which may or may not be children of your John & Elizabeth....very difficult comes to mind

Hi Bryant,
Many thanks for your reply and information provided. Yes it does seem very difficult as they were all probably married by the 41 census. The George 1811 birth I found was with his mother on the 1841 census, age taken from the census. By 51 I expect mother had died. I would be interested in the other Tyler /Hillery marriages if you could provide them? and many thanks again for your help.

Hello Terri

When you go into http://www.familysearch.org/eng/default.asp and click the search button and then the IGI section

enter John Tyler as the name you are looking for and then enter 1801, then marriage and you land up with the details of the marriage you know about!

then go to the bottom of the page and you see batch numbers, in this case its M055763...click on it and it brings up another page, enter the surname only ie Tyler or Hillery and you will see all the other marriages for St Dunstans

Regards
