Hi all. looking for any info on the surname Tayan, anything at all.

The closest match to the Tayan surname that I see anything for is Tayne  - there are a few entries on Griffiths Valuation, all in Queens Co. (Laois)

If you enter the Tayan surname in a blanket search of the IFHF databse it returns no matches. Using the Tayne spelling returns just two matches including a George Tayne, born 1880 in Westmeath.   

The familysearch Irish Civil Index lists about 125 events for the Tayne surname between 1845 and 1880, but none in Westmeath. (most are in Limerick & Clare)
